About UsI was going to do it all and do it in style. I was out of college, had a job, new townhouse, trendy wardrobe (ok so the Dolce and Gabbana purse was a knockoff but it was still cool), working on a graduate degree, cute husband, cute dog. Next step was a baby. I should have known better. Getting pregnant took some special steps, being pregnant was a challenge, and 65lbs later (yikes!) those stylish pregnancy outfits did not look so stylish. All I wanted to wear was loose sweat suits. Nevermind. I would be that cool mom. I was going to have the ultimate baby that I could take anywhere; I'd meet Moms for lunches while the baby napped, take feeding and napping in strides as he would eat, sleep and poop on schedule as good babies do, and I'd make it all seem effortless and look good doing it. When I had difficulty becoming pregnant, well-meaning older relatives said that my child would be special. During those long nights when for over a year he would sleep no more than a few hours at a stretch and had to constantly be moved, I wondered about him being 'special' – specially challenging (hard to settle, sleeplessness, difficulty breastfeeding, eating, swallowing, issues with reflux, sensory challenges, and delayed speech), specially demanding and yes, specially cute. I started to research baby products that could help him and me. Every time I found an item that helped with one of his challenges I would pat myself on my back and say with a sigh of relief – 'clever mommy'. I found myself recommending certain items to friends and telling them where to buy them. Friends began calling with challenges of their own, and asking for products and advice. So I gathered the best of what I'd discovered and tried, and put it all together on one website so that you too could be a clever mommy.
